SUMMARY:Bear Branch Heritage Preserve
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a special trip into Bear Branch Heritage Preserve to conduct one of the first biotic assessments of the property!\n\nLocated along the fall line of the Sandhills ecoregion\, the Preserve is dominated by sandhills with a canopy of Longleaf Pine. Lower elevations include mixed hardwood forests\, pocosin and blackwater creek floodplain forests.\n\nWe’ll meet at exactly 10:30 at the entrance gate near the terminus of Timshel Gardens Drive (almost 0.5 miles east of Springfield Church Road) at 33.683793\, -81.798644. DNR staff will take us onto the property. Please carpool as much as possible to minimize vehicle congestion.\n\nThere are no facilities.
