Vereen Park and Gardens is situated on a broad salt marsh along the Intracoastal Waterway\, and has three miles of trails and a nice marsh boardwalk and fishing pier. The park features historical\nsites as well as a beautiful natural environment\, including a stretch of the colonial-era King’s Highway\, and the Vereen family cemetery with Revolutionary War graves. Since we’ll be just south of the famous eating destination of Calabash\, NC\, I think you can probably expect to dine on some Calabash-style seafood! \nDirections:\n2250 South Carolina Highway 179\nLittle River\, SC 29566\n(843) 249-4157 \nThe park is located right on US 17 in Little River\, South Carolina\, just about a tenth of a mile south of the North Carolina border. Stay on Highway 17 North until you reach Highway 179. Veer right and the gardens are immediately on your right. \nThere are no bathroom facilities\, portable toilets only. \nAdmission is free
