Nighttime Birding and Socializing

September 16, 2016 @ 7:00 pm - September 17, 2016 @ 7:00 am

This will be on evening of Friday September 16th into the morning of Saturday September 17th. Sunset to sunrise, weather permitting. Show up a little before sunset and watch the sun set while you get settled in (7:29pm).

With the commanding view from Dick Watkin’s Bluff Property overlooking the Congaree Park Basin, (next to Fort Motte), we should be able to hear and see some interesting sights with the full moon up, very little light pollution, a quiet place, and the migration in swing.

There won’t be any hiking, just relaxing with friends. Lawn chairs/lounges, blankets(?),
binoculars, mosquito spray, cameras and tripods, flashlights (preferably with a red lens
or red cellophane), whatever you want in a cooler. I will bring the trash can. If you want
to leave and go back home early, you can.

Sunset 7:29pm
Moon rise 7:37pm
Overhead 12:50am
Moon set 7:56am
